Thousands of local people use this building, from worship to weddings, self help groups to a thriving nursery school, toddler play to performing arts. We raised over £1 million, through grants and donations, to save the church spire. Work is now underway and will progress throughout 2026. Now we must repair the tower, which will cost about £900,000. We're applying for grants, but there's a funding gap of about £400,000.
Following generous grant funding from Historic England and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we continue to fundraise to repair the tower and other parts of the building, inside and out.
You could be part of a chance to take the scaffolding down forever in 2027. If we move fast, we can get this done and save money on scaffolding! By repairing the tower while the spire scaffolding is still up, it will cost less.
